When to Send Timed Messages

Are you the owner of an online commerce website? Do you have a PR image website which allows your customers to sign up for a newsletter? Do you run a website that is setup to receive incoming messages and forums? Now is the time to learn everything about the variety of professional functions at your disposal using timed messages.
What is a timed message?
A timed message is a message sent automatically from your system when a client registers with your website, makes a purchase or leaves a message on your system using their personal e-mail address or mobile phone.
Most website owners commonly send two kinds of timed messages to their customers:
  • Confirmation of purchase to a client who has just made a purchase  on their website
  • Confirmation of registration for a mailing list.
Today you have a wide variety of functions and marketing methods at your disposal, which you can use to strengthen your electronic connection with the clients through  your website and even to make sales and distribute marketing and commercial messages. Here we have collected some important tips, which will help you do this properly:
  • Personal messages - we all like to feel special and preferred by commercial groups with which we have business ties. By sending personal messages to your client, you can increase their feeling that they are a preferred customers thereby earning their trust of your product or your service over time. By using a registration form which requires the customer to share various details, and by employing an advanced system to process these details, you can send personal messages on customers' birthdays, anniversaries or any other occasion which you chose for the customers signing up for  your mailing list. A personal message with birthday wishes will improve the client's image of you, while the addition of a discount coupon or an offer of exclusive purchasing terms will help advance your business on the marketing level.
  • Notice of purchase – messages with a confirmation of purchase are a professional function carried out automatically by your system any time a customer makes a purchase through your website. In addition to the professional function which provides the customer with the dry technical details of their purchase, you can make this platform more commercial through more marketable phrasing of the dry technical details, including a discount coupon for the next purchase, or asking the customer to fill out a brief survey of the technical service available at the time of purchase. By promising the customer some benefit from taking the survey, you benefit twice --once by controlled data collection from a customer who has just made a purchase, and then again through promoting the option of a future purchase. You can also offer possibilities such as joining your members' club, etc.
  • One noticeable habit of online shoppers is to abandon their shopping cart. This is characterized by a registered shopper taking a long virtual tour of the various products and services offered on your website, adding products and services to their personal shopping cart and then abandoning it just before completing the transaction using automatic confirmation of the payment details with which they initially registered. If you have encountered this same phenomenon on your website, it is recommended that you use immediate timed messages encouraging the customer to complete their purchase. If the customer does not complete the transaction, it is recommended that you send another message, this time including some incentive such as a discount or benefit for the product they expressed interest in or the offer of a discount on an accompanying product upon completion of this transaction.
  • Client's demand to be removed from your mailing list - removal confirmation messages are usually sent automatically with only minimal wording of the confirmation and no marketing value to your website. Even when a client asks to be immediately removed from your mailing list, it is worth it to invest creative thinking to send an original and surprising marketing message. Who knows? The client may change his or her mind at the last minute.
